I have memories of Mama and Dada,
When there was no Gucci nor Prada.
Back then, love didn’t have price Tags,
Wasn’t based on how much of the Bags.
Relationship filled with lot of Sacrifice,
Think of the other, tons of Compromise.
They bend to accommodate the Other,
They yield, take a mile and step Further.
A love made under the moon and Stars,
Not the house, what you do, nor the Cars.
Not based on comparison to the other Person,
Learning and building together, in life’s Lesson.
But today, love to many is tied to looks and Assets,
Tied to automated luxuries, not stereos and Cassettes.
To the truly good ones, to LOVE, they’ve been a Fool,
With heart and spirit, they’ve been sucked to Half-Full..
