There are good ones, there’s bad too,
Those ingrained deep with Me and You.
Each person carry them just like a gene,
They can lead us to lose or help us win.

Some are learnt from mother or father,
Seen in our environment or even farther.
They become like a mark to the bearer,
Things that makes one worse or better.

Some of our characters need to alter,
For good, not change like the weather.
One must search what is truly needed,
Lest our core value becomes depleted.

Most time, we think we are the very best,
When we count good, believe we’re first.
But, we might need to pause and reflect,
In order to do better, not to be perfect.

So, when they call our attention to something,
Let’s not see it as criticism, shouldn’t just sting.
Rather, see it as a means of self development,
Can turn it into motivation and encouragement.

Not all words said should make us break,
Sieve through, the essentials we must take.
